Meet John Reed
John Reed is the owner of Next Level Electric and a Ventura resident, where he lives with his wife, Heather, and their three children, Andrew, Alexys, and Avery. With over 30 years of experience in the electrical field, John has built his career on a lifelong passion for the trade.
His interest in electricity began at just thirteen years old, wiring lights and outlets in his grandfather’s shed and garage—an experience he still looks back on with pride. By sixteen, he had already begun his first job as an apprentice with a large electrical company, launching what would become a diverse and accomplished career.
Over the years, John has worked on a wide range of projects, from energy management systems for major retail stores like Macy’s to custom home wiring. He later transitioned into service-based electrical work in Simi Valley, where he discovered a true passion for helping customers directly—troubleshooting issues, upgrading panels, and installing lighting systems.
John spent sixteen years with a Santa Barbara-based company, serving as a lead service electrician. During that time, he expanded his expertise to include panel upgrades, landscape lighting design and installation, and interior lighting solutions. His leadership and technical skills eventually led him to manage a service department for a local electrical company, where he oversaw scheduling, estimating, and installations.
Inspired by years of experience and encouragement from family, friends, and loyal customers, John took the leap to start his own business. Today, as the proud owner of Next Level Electric, he is committed to delivering high-quality work and exceptional service.
John truly loves what he does and looks forward to helping customers with all their electrical needs.
